I sometimes have troubles with object groups as well...
You can do "show run object-group id GE-TP-UNITS"
And for tips/tricks, I would just suggest if you can't find it with a specific command, just use the "show run | i" or "show run | be"
You can also do "show run access-list", "show run static", "show run nat", "show run global"
These are the common ones I use.
