I lost my admin passsword, is there a way to recover it?

If yes, will there be  a way to recover it without destroying the setup and data on the NSS?

TIA

Thomas

I have this problem too.

Welcome to the Cisco community!

For security reasons there is no way to recover the password, but we can reset the password of the unit. Resetting the passwaord will only default the following settings:

Network information

Admin password back to "admin"

Nic set to DHCP

If joined to Active Directory you may need to re-join

You will not loose any other information such as RAID, shares and so on.

To do this, hold the reset button on the back of the unit for 3secs, you will hear a beep; then let go. If you continue to hold the button for 10sec you will default all settings, but will not loose data.

If you have questions or run into problems please contact Small Business Support at 866.606.1866 and select the option for Storage.

Hope this helps.

The shared folder manually created from you, will be lost. Do not panic. You have not loose any of the data,

Just recreate the shared folder with the same name and the data will be found again!
