Upgrading Cisco Secure ACS 5.1 on 1121 How To Instructions

For others who might be searching how to apply a patch to ACS 5x (as the manual is horrible)


My laptop is 192.168.121.111, I used FileZilla FTP Server (SourceForge) and created a user cisco password cisco with home directory having the .tar.gpg file in it.



acs/acsadmin# config t
Enter configuration commands, one per line.  End with CNTL/Z.
acsjax/acsadmin(config)# repository upgrade
acsjax/acsadmin(config-Repository)# url ftp://192.168.121.111
acsjax/acsadmin(config-Repository)# user cisco password plain cisco
acsjax/acsadmin(config-Repository)#


acs/admin# acs patch install 5-1-0-44-3.tar.gpg repository upgrade
