Hi,

Was a recent hardware change done (Memory Upgrade)? Can you please post the full boot up sequence from the time you plug in power, to the point at which it hangs.

- Magnus

Hi

Thank for your prompt reply .Yes you are right. It is text file. Now I am in home. I will do it from my office. I am really appreciating your feedback.

Hi

As per your suggestion I upload ios form rommon it stacked on

                   Cisco Systems, Inc.

               170 West Tasman Drive

                San Jose, California 95134-1706

After that when I power off and on it showing message which I attached.Would be appreciated if you let me know your views.

Aminul,

It looks like the flash is corrupted on that firewall. As a result we must format the flash. Please do the following:

1) Boot from TFTP again so that you can get to the ASA prompt

2) Format the flash with the command 'format flash:'

3) Copy the image from TFTP to flash:

Worth noting is that the Rommon TFTP boot *does not* copy the code to flash. You must copy it once again once the firewall has booted and you can access the prompt.

- Magnus

Hi Magnus

Thanks for your reply. Actually I am unable to go privilege mode .My asa stacked before going to privilege mode. Is there any way to format the flash from rommon mode or what is your suggestion? Would be appreciated if you let me know your views.

Aminul,

I see you are trying to boot up 7.2.2. What does the boot up sequence look like if you try a later build like 7.2.5 or 8.2.2 (which can be downloaded from cisco.com).

- Magnus

Hi Magnus

Thanks for your reply. Yes I did 7.2.2 and also try to 7.2.5 which I downloaded from Cisco. Any information would highly appreciate.

Regards

Aminul

Aminul,

Can you post the 7.2.5 output. There were some code changes with flash handling between 7.2.2 and 7.2.5 and it may display different output that could help track the issue further. Also please try 8.2.2 if you can, there were plenty of changes that went in in how the firewall code interacts with the HW. In the end, if the flash is unrecoverable, you would need to RMA it which would involve you openning a service request. So lets try 8.2.2, if it is the same result go ahead an open a service request since we may just be chasing a HW issue this whole time.

- Magnus

Hi Magnus

Thanks for your reply. I upload new software 8.2.2 but still same thing. Please have a look attachment for output. Any information would be appreciated.
