Making external calls without using access code?

HI,

I have a customer that wants to know if it is possible to configure the UC540 to allow users to call external PSTN numbers WITHOUT the use of the access code.

It looks like CCA 2.2(4) forces the admin to program the access code.

When I searched the Net, someone suggested using "voice translation".

My customer prefers NOT to use the CLI and prefers using CCA.

Also it seems like if someone is not well versed in CLI and decides to make changes to the programming, it could adversely affect the CCA like locking up the GUI tool.

Kind Regards,

It's a good practice to use an access code to avoid ambiguity, number overlap, etc. However, it is possible to remove the requirement to dial 9. To my knowledge, the only way to do this is through the CLI. You would need to modify the dial peers to remove the 9.

Hope this helps.
