3750 Connectivity issue

keith.mckay

Level 1

I have a WS-C2960G-24TC-L

with a 1000base LX SFP

connected via single mode to an Incomming gigabit circuit from SSE/Telco (Scottish and Southern Electric)

this configuration works ok.

When i move the connection to a WS-C3750G-24TS-1U (with the same sfp) i get no connectivity, no physical or anything,
has anyone seen this before when i do a show interface it does nothing, not connected etc.

Any top tips and handy hots would be appreciated

Keith

Hello,

Can you post the output of "show interface " from both

switches with the SFP in the slot?

Regards,

NT

And this is the same on all 4 SFP ports of the 3750?

Hello,

Are you using the same SFP on both switches i.e. are you moving the SFP from the 2960 to 3750? If not, can you please try that. It could be a bad SFP issue. Also, if you are going via a patch panel for 3750, can you try bypassing the patch panel and see if that helps?

Regards,

NT

Hi

There is no intermediate patching all connections are direct, same SFP is being used and has been tested in all ports.

Keith

Can you give us the make/model of the SFP?

Also, provide "show run int gi1/0/25" from the 3750, and "show run int gi0/22" of the 2960. Also provide "show ver" for both switches.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi all

Hopefully this will be useful to someone else but the issue i was having was based around each negotiating a different speed.  In the Gig interface on the 3750 i executed the "speed nonegotiate" command.  This solved the issue.
