Hi we have a Cisco CallManager with Full Unity version 3.3 and we would like to integrate our
our call manager with a Switchvox solution via VPN in a remote site.
Aparently CallManager 3.3 doesn't support the necesary SIP trunking in order to be able to
integrate this two systems.
Is this correct and if so what version would we need to upgrade to?

Correct. CM 3.3 does not support SIP trunks. The first CM version to
support SIP trunks was 4.x. SIP line side support was added in CUCM 5.x.
HTH.

Bill

Hi do you think that 4.1 should be enougth to do the job or would I need the SIP line side in 5.x
Basically I'm trying to assess if we could posibly upgrade to a version that will allow us to use SIP trunking
the way we want it to with our current hardware (or at least some of it):
Cisco 1760
WIC 1 DSU T1 & VWIC 1-MFT T1 (all version 1)
2 servers for Unity and Callmanager 3.3
That way we might be able to make a stronger case that would enable us to keep our Cisco CallManager.
Otherwise we fear that the CallManager might be replaced by a Switchvox.

After giving our problem some thought and discussing our scenario with some people
a new idea has come up.
Could we create a SIP trunk from a router that supports SIP trunking to the switchvox
through the VPN instead of performing a full upgrade to the CallManager 3.3 and route
our calls through the VPNs depending on the patterns.
