EtherChannel works when 3750G stack master fails?

Hi All,

I try to combine two uplinks from two 3750G stack switches into one etherchannel connected to another two stack switches which has one etherchannel too. If the master switch fail, then one link in the etherchannel goes down. I think the etherchannel should have no outage with this master failure, right?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Lou

Hello,

3750 platform supports cross-stack etherchannel. In other words, the whole

stack is treated as one switch. So, if the master goes down, only ports on

the master go down and the etherchannel stays up. The slave inherits all the

masters configurations and continues to operate normally.

Hope this helps.

NT
