Thanks for the response. As a follow up, can a Jabber client connect to chat rooms? I've configured Adium successfully but

I am unable to invite that client to a chat room.

Technically speaking all standard features of Jabber would be supported.

What kind of chat room you created?  A persistent chat room or a ad-hoc one?

Where did you try to invite the client?  From CUPC or from 3rd-party client?

Ah my mistake. I missed the invite on the other test client.

So, I created the room from the CUPC 8.0.1 client and then invited and was sucessful.
