Cisco 2811 login on-failures

Hi,

I have 4 Cisco 2811 routers that are configured for login on-failures, but this command is not logging a failed network attempt. The command does work when you apply the following commands -

  • login block-for 300  attempts 3 within 10
  • login delay  3
But l do not want to block the amount of attempts on the router. Has anyone managed to get this working on a 2811 router with out the commands above?
Thanks,
James

It doesn't seem possible, since: "All login parameters are disabled by default. You  must issue the login block-for command, which  enables default login functionality, before using any other login  commands." which presumably include "login on-failure log [every login]".
