UCCE Question - ICM and Active Directory

Hello Everybody!

We are installing a UCCE solution for our customer in Brazil.

The Customer's IT Staff asked us the following question:

Is that possible  to install ICM without creating Cisco_ICM Organization Unit on Active Directory

The reason for that question is that the customer's AD environment has a defined structure for managing users and services accounts and they would like to keep that structure.

Thank you in advance

No, not possible.

The obvious solution is to put in a couple of servers to be the Domain Controller/DNS servers and maintain a dedicated Domain for ICM, with no trust relationships to the corporate Domain. The Cisco Domain requirements are just for ICM to work, and the AD guys should have no interest in it (ha!).

Since there appear to be arbitrary rules over how OUs will be organized, there will probably also be arbitrary rules that won't allow other Active Directory setups outside those controlled/mandated by the current rules. But this AD is totally separate from the Corporate AD and if you can convince them of this, it may fly.

Regards,

Geoff
