Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express Road Map

Hi All,

Can anyone help me with information regarding becoming certified as Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express Specialist.

A learning center here in Sydney Australia informed me that Cisco is going to change the course path for this certification as there has been a lack of interest.  Can anybody validate this?

I'm on the final leg of this specialization path however I cannot find a learning center which offers Implementing Cisco IOS Based Unified Communications Part 2.

We are a Cisco partner and selling CCME would be an integral part of our business.

Thanks in advance

Steve

Hi Steve,

I also had similar experiences when I initally started looking into getting certified on CCME.  We are a partner based in the US and I was able to find some learning centers that had the IIUC2 course for the IP Communications Express certification, but none were close enough to me to even consider.  I have not heard of any word to alter this certification roadmap though.

At that point I decided that self studying for this cert was the way to go.  I started off using the CCNA Voice CBT nuggets videos. If you have a UC500 and/or a UC licensed ISR with some phones that should be all you need to practice on. If you feel you have a solid understanding of the concepts in the CCNA Voice course and have done some UC500/ISR deployments this certification should come to you pretty easily.  Peronsally I found the IIUC2 exam to be slightly easier than the CCNA Voice certification. How long have you been working with CCME?

Also, keep in mind that you will also need another individual in your company to take the account manager exams for the UC Express specialization. In short, my advise, if you have done some CCME deployments and have your CCNA Voice, sit the test and see how you do. You might just surprise yourself to see that you already have a solid understanding of the topics.

Good luck!

Cole

Cole,

I thought that because this was a specialization the exam would be a lot harder then CCNA Voice. Personally I found the CCNA Voice exam to be straight forward so based on your advise I think I will self study.

Thanks

Steve
