Hello,

Im facing a very strange problem, i have two WS-X6K-SUP2-2GE which were installed on Slot 1 and Slot 2, i upgraded them from Catos to IOS, now after upgrade SUP from Slot2 doesnt come up. both SUP are fine, both come up on the SLOT 1 but, if i remove all cards even from slot1 and start them from Slot2 it doesnt come up. but when we revert it back to CAT OS it comes back again..

What could be the issue.

here are some outputs.

Hi,

If the beloow output was taken when the IOS version was running then:

If we have converted from CatOS to IOS, we might have not got it right:

The software on which the sup is running is still CatOS.

Please publish the 'dir all' output: After conversion the Sw should change to IOS.

podhillo.

No it has been updated correct, as i have told that if you will swap the SUP from 2 to 1, same SUP will boot to IOS fine, but then the SUP which is moved from 1 to 2, it wont come up.

Yasir,

Did you at any point console into the standby sup and verify if its booting up correctly or no error messages are seen during bootup?

Enable console on standby  and chek if there are any errors or issues

Example:

POD3#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line.  End with CNTL/Z.
POD3(config)#redund
POD3(config)#redundancy
POD3(config-red)#?
Redundancy configuration commands:
default        Set a command to its defaults
exit            Exit from redundancy configuration mode
  linecard-group  Enter linecard-group mode
  main-cpu        Enter main-cpu mode
mode           redundancy mode for this chassis
no             Negate a command or set its defaults
policy          redundancy policy enforcement

POD3(config-red)#main-cpu
POD3(config-r-mc)#standby console enable
POD3(config-r-mc)#
