Sometimes can not hear outside line caller

Hello all,

We have an SPA3102 setup connected to 3CX server and we are using the 3CX softphones. All internal call are crisp and clear with no echo. However, outside calls are not so good. We can hear an echo of what we say (delayed about 1/2 second) and many times the voice from the caller is barely audible. On a few occasions I have asked the caller to speak-up a little or pick up the handset (no speakerphone) and the sound improves to a normal level. My guess is that these problems are not related, but I though maybe I would try to solve them together. I think I have narrowed the problem to settings in the 3102 because all internal calls seem to work fine (no echo, volume is great). Does anyone have any thoughs on what settings I might check to solve these issues?

Dear Jim;

I suggest you take a look at modifying the gain settings for the FXO ports on SPA3102 as well as checking that impedance setting matches the line. These two are the biggest source for echo and audio issues.
