Direct Inward Dial Default for not defined numbers

On a UC560,the customer has PRI with 200 DIDs but only about 40 are used.  If a call comes into the UC560 with a DID that is not defined then they get a secondary dial tone.

How can I program the UC560 such that if a DID comes in that is not defined in the inward dialing plan it will go to the auto attendant (X398)?

OOB dial-peers can be created in the 5011 - 5999 range.

Voice translation rules from 10001 and above can be added through IOS CLI without impacting CCA. Voice translation rules in this range will not be deleted or overwritten by CCA.

Try this and see if it works for you ......


Setup a generic translation rule for any inbound DID to go to your AA, so now any call on the PRI DID not matching gets the AA.

You can take advantage of CCA Many-To-One Dial Plan and configure those "leftover" DIDs to all route to the AA.  If they are in some range, that might makes this quick and easy (CCA handles range here up to 250 numbers).

CCA 2.2(5) will implement logic to translate undefined numbers to non-dialable numbers. It is also part of the 8.0.4 software pack's default configuration.

Many-to-One DID Translation maps a range of PSTN numbers to one extension number. The extension number might correspond to an
Auto-Attendant, an operator extension, or a hunt group. One dial plan must be configured for each contiguous range of numbers.

Refer to the attached screenshot. You can navigate to that config page in CCA by going to; Configure > Telephony > Dial Plan > Incoming > Direct Dial to Auto-Attendant, Groups, Operator.
