Hello Linda,

Can you execute the following command?

Router# sh run | sec ip route

It should come back with the following:

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 FastEthernet0/0

If not, can you post the area where you defined the static route?

Hope this helps.

Hello Bert,

Thanks for ur answer, i issued the command

Router# sh run | sec ip route

It should come back with the following:

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 FastEthernet0/0

and yes it came out with that output, but when i issue the command show ip route, it says gateway of last resort is not set and on the routing table there is no default route still and i used the default configuration that came with the SR520W.

Thanks

Hello Linda,

How is your customer's network connected to the internet? I am assuming you are using an ADSL or cable service but please confirm.

Other areas to troubleshoot:

1. Have you rebooted the modem in order to clear it's MAC address table?

2. Do you have the IP address of your Gateway? If so, I have configured the GW ip address in the IP route statement instead of the interface.

ROUTER_SR520#ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (ip address of gateway)

3. Can you ping the gateway from the router?

If so, can you ping IP address outside the GW like the ISP's DNS server or google.com or other IP addresses?

Hope this helps.

Bert
