How to determine the installed software version and order install media for CUCM

Hi,

We will support a new customer who has got Cisco CUCM, CUC and CUPS running in the current network. In the network auditing process, we found that install medias for Cisco CUCM, CUC and CUPS are missing, which causes a potential risk that we cannot rebuild the system if one of those servers crashes. To eliminate the risk, we would like know:

1) How can we determine the original installed software version on those servers? If I run "show version active" and "show version inactive", I see the following information.

On CUCM and CUC:
======================
admin:show version active
Active Master Version: 7.1.2.20000-2

Active Version Installed Software Options:
No Installed Software Options Found.

admin:show version inactive

Executed command unsuccessfully
No Inactive side available
admin:
=======================

On CUPS:
=======================
admin:show version active
Active Master Version: 7.0.4.10000-18

Active Version Installed Software Options:
No Installed Software Options Found.

admin:show version inactive

Executed command unsuccessfully
No Inactive side available
admin:
========================

2) How can we order the install medias from Cisco? We need install DVDs only, not license.

Any suggestion would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Bob

The original installed version on both systems if the Active Master Version output.  Since there is no inactive partition yet, it means the system is using the original software load and has never been patched and/or upgraded.  Your customer will need current software support to order DVD media for each system.  The DVD media can be ordered by the customer or you (on their behalf) using the Product Upgrade Tool accessed via a valid CCO user acount.

If there is not an inactive version listed then most likely this is the install or shipped version.

We normally order Media from the product upgrade tool. This of course requires a contract with a current Software support agreement.
