I recently purchased a WAP54G to use with my WRT54GL router as a wireless repeater.  I entered the wireless MAC address of my router into the WAP54G and selected wireless repeater.  However, the link light will not come on and I cannot get it to act as a wireless repeater.

I did note this warning at the bottom of the Wireless / AP mode page":

When set to "Wireless Repeater" mode, this device will only communicate with another
            Linksys Access Point (WAP54G) and Linksys Wireless-G Router (WRT54G).

Does this mean that it will not work as a wireless repeater with my WRT54GL? [emphasis on the L]

And does this mean that I am more or less limited to using it as a wired WAP?
