ASA and WCCP

I understand that you can use WCCP redirects on the ASA to redirect traffic to a proxy server, and that you can have multiple WCCP groups but if the ACL used within the groups are the same, only the first group will be used.

Is there anyway to declare the first WCCP Statement as dead if the first proxy becomes unavailable, so that the second service group takes over?

thanks

Hi.

you are correct in that if you have overlapping acl for two different groups, the acl matching on the first service group will be matched.  It will not be matched on the second group.  ASA does support multiple cache engines in the same service group for redundancy.  So if the first CE in the same service group goes down, the other CE in the same group will take over.
