Move Protectlink Gateway license from one device to new one

While we're not a huge fan of Protectlink, it's slow and unreliable at times and often doesn't filter out all the bad sites people visit among other design flaws, but we have one site with a license and they want to buy a new device with more ports.  Can we simply take the old one offline and enter their key in the new one or do we have to do something different?

What SKU do the run today and what SKU are you considering for the same device?

Or are you changing HW SKU and want to reuse license?

Anticipating some answers (assumptions) :-)

Essentially this would be treated like an RMA in terms of how ProtectLink licensing is addressed...

-     Get Activation Code from current Trend account (user can login to their current account on trend site and get this)

-     Click "Install" and then "have an AC"(or similar) on the new Cisco device's GUI.. follow process to use Activation Code (AC) based on the original AC used with the RMA’d device.

-     Trend license site will then detect the change and be updated… MAC address is replaced with new address of the new Cisco device

-     The new Cisco device should then reflect that it is licensed after a few minutes.
