Is a CUCM User account required for Corporate Directory entry?

Hi Guys,

Question is in the title I suppose.  I have a number of public access phones that have no user account in CUCM.  CUCM is AD integrated.

They do not show up in the corporate directory.

Do they need user accounts??

Thanks,
Neil

Hi

Yes, afraid so.

It's a common complaint about the AD integration that you can't just throw in extra contacts.

A possible solution would be to rip/replace the XML directory with one that supports other AD objects such as contacts, and then add the extras as contacts to AD.

Or add contacts to AD and change CCM so it imports them - pre8.0 this was tricky (https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3042759#3042759) but post 8.0 you can change the LDAP filter via the GUI.

Regards

Aaron
