Hi,

I didnt get exactly use for "Sweep range of sizes [n]:" in Ping command pls help to explain it ??

Hi,

The range option can be used to test the max MTU size along the path. For example you want know the max allowed MTU between IP A to IP B, you think it is between 1450 to 1500. You can use the range option and set min size 1450, max size 1500 with DF bit set, then the device will send out 5 (default) ICMP packet with size 1450 to IP B, follow by 5 ICMP with size 1451 till size 1500. From the output, you can find out the max allowed MTU on the path.
