Hi Friends,
I want to turn OFF the backlight display in Cisco IP phone 7970 after one minute once the user uses the phone. I am using Call Manager Express 7.0. I have applied the following commands inside the telephony services.
service phone displayIdleTimeout 00:01
service phone backlightIdleTimeout 00:01
create cnf-files
reset all
Still the phones are not at all turning OFF after one minute. When I checked in the device configuration over the phone, it shows as displayOnTime as 7.00, displayOnDuration as 10.00 and displayIdleTimeout 00:001. I have even tried to remove displayOnTime and displayOnDuration by applyin as no displayOnTime and no displayOnDuration. But its still showing the same.
I have tried the cisco recommended solution as:
Router(config)# telephony-service
Router(config-telephony)# service phone daysBacklightNotActive 1,2,3,4,5,6,7
Router(config-telephony)# service phone backlightOnTime 07:30
Router(config-telephony)# service phone backlightOnDuration 10:00
Router(config-telephony)# service phone backlightIdleTimeout 00.01
Router(config-telephony)# create cnf-files
Router(config-telephony)# reset all
But no luck still. Please help.

It may be an issue with either firmware versions or the non-working phones may not be defined as 7970s under the "ephone" configuration. can you collect the following command output and post?
show ephone phone-load
show telephony-service all
Also, provide the MAC addresses of the phones which don't turn off after a minute.

I would update to either 12.4(22)YB6 or 15.0(1)M3, update phones to latest, if problem still happens, open a TAC case.
