Hi all,
i try to apply a service policy with shaping on a service instance under a gigabit interface of a es20+ on a 7600-SUP720-PFC3BXL (12.2.SRD4)
This is the service policy:
policy-map 200Mshape
class class-default
shape average 200000000
and this the service instance (with SVI)
interface GigabitEthernetx/x
!
service instance 914 ethernet
encapsulation dot1q 914
rewrite ingress tag pop 1 symmetric
bridge-domain 914!
!
int vlan 914
ip address xx.xx.xx.xx
!
When I apply the policy :
test(config)#interface GigabitEthernetx/x
test(config-if)# service instance 914 ethernet
test(config-if-srv)#
test(config-if-srv)#service-policy output 200Mshape
%Configuration failed on GigabitEthernetx/x.
service-policy configuration for efp 914 failed
The problem doesn't exist for shaping under 131M.
And on a es20+ :
"The shape rate cannot be configured greater than 131Mb at the leaf level on ES+ interfaces"
But the policy i've applied is a flat policy ! Not hierarchical..
I try with a hierarchical policy, with a child policy that doesn't match anything
policy-map 200MshapeH
class class-default
shape average 200000000
service-policy child
but when applied the counters of the show policy-map int gix/x service instance 914 , don't increase !!!
The same configuration with the first policy-map (the flat one) on ES20+ installed on a RSP PFC3C is working!!!!
interface GigabitEthernetx/x
!
service instance 914 ethernet
encapsulation dot1q 914
rewrite ingress tag pop 1 symmetric
service-policy output 200Mshape
bridge-domain 914
!
int vlan 914
ip address xx.xx.xx.xx
7600-test#sh policy-map int GigabitEthernetx/x service instance 914
GigabitEthernetx/x: EFP 914
Service-policy output: 200Mshape
Counters last updated 00:00:00 ago
Class-map: class-default (match-any)
81 packets, 6233 bytes
30 second offered rate 0000 bps, drop rate 0000 bps
Match: any
Queueing
queue limit 32768 packets
(queue depth/total drops/no-buffer drops) 0/0/0
(pkts output/bytes output) 81/6233
shape (average) cir 200000000, bc 800000, be 800000
target shape rate 200000000
Someone can help me?
Thanks
Federica

Hello Federica,
you have collected enough information to open a TAC call I would do so
is the RSP 720 C chassis running exactly the same IOS image ?
if it is so I would open a service request.
Hope to help

Thanks Giuseppe...
You'll right.. On the RSP I've 12.2SRE2 running , with SRD4 the problem still remain with the RSP-PFC3...
So I think with the 12.2SRE2 the problem would be solved even on SUP720.. But I'can't test now...
Ciao
Federica
