356024-PS Keeps Crashing.

Over the last 3 months one of our 3560-24PS switches has been causing trouble ( been fine for about 21 months prior to this ).

We noticed a total lack of connectivity ( although inline power seemed ok ), so rebooted. This has been gettign more common.

What I have noticed over the last few days ( running a syslog on my workstation ) is that the switch actualy seems to be randomly restarting and it's not always comming back up.

I have attatched one of the syslog outputs, it does not mean much to me unfortunatly.

We are not covered by any support contract, but I have read elsewhere that fixed config switches have a lifetime waranty??? is this correct?

https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/thread/11401

Nothing has changed on the config, and at teh moment there is no traffic ( that we know of ) as we are a school and it's summer holidays. CPU useage does not show anything that looks abnormal.

Has anyone had any similar experience??

Thanks

Rob

Any crashinfo file or traceback? The crashinfo file should be in switch's flash. And the traceback might be in your syslog message.

If you have any of those, you can post it here.

jerry

Two folders

crashinfo has 115 files.  ( 1 and 115 attached as I don't know how is ordered )

crashinfo ha 17 files ( again 1 & 17 attached.)

You are hitting CSCsv09763. The problem can be both software and hardware. You should contact TAC to see if this unit can be replaced or upgraded.

HTH,

jerry

I don't have a support contract.

What is "CSCsv09763"

Thanks

Rob

CSCsv09763 is the bug id. Like I said before, this might be hardware related, TAC will need to determine if they can get you hardware replacement.

Regards,

jerry

Thanks,

is there a way to contact TAC without a support contract?

Thanks

Rob

I think if it is hardware related, the switch can be RMA. Call TAC and give it a try.

Regards,

jerry
