Assistance with CSS sticky-serverdown-failover

Dear all,

I have a CISCO 11500 and configured it for sticky source ip balancing. The stickinees works fine but if the associated service stops or becomes available, the failover is not working. I have used "sticky-serverdown-failover" but this is not working. Please see the config below. If I take off the stickiness the balancing works fine

owner RMG2

content web-servers
protocol tcp
port 80
vip address 172.18.82.106
add service RMG2.2
add service RMG1.2
advanced-balance sticky-srcip
sticky-serverdown-failover
balance leastconn

Your help is greatly appreciated !!!

Cheers

Active connections will not be failed over.

Only new connections will be redirected to the other server.

You can't simply move one connection from one server to the other.

The backup server would not accept the traffic since it did not participate in the tcp 3-way handshake and does not know about the tcp sequence numbers.

Do you have a probe to detect the server is down ?

Does the service shows down at the time you open a new connection ?

Hi Gilles,

I am not worried about the active session but even if I close the browser and try a new session, it sticks to the same service even if the site is down
