Catalyst 2900 XL and ESXi - incomplete MAC

I am running some legacy switches (C2900XL running IOS (tm) C2900XL Software (C2900XL-C3H2S-M), Version 12.0(5.2)XU).

It runs as an isolated DMZ and I am trying to connect an ESXi server (VMware server) to is with a couple of VMs on it.

I get a connection but no IP level connectivity. The port negotiates and is up, but when I ping the server I get the following entry in the arp table:

I have set the port to trunking, but no luck.

Has anybody seen this before?

Hello,

This seems to be an issue with the ESX server configuration. Is your host

machine bridging the NIC for the virtual machine? It seems like the virtual

machine is not seeing the packets from the switch. Check the ESX interface

sharing configuration.
