Questions regarding tunnel-groups

Unanswered Question
Aug 26th, 2010

I'm building a customer SSL VPN solution with multiple tunnel-groups which will be presented as drop downs in the AnyConnect client. A couple of questions regarding the tunnel-groups...

1. What is the character limitation on the length of the tunnel-group displayed in the client?

2. How are the tunnel-groups sorted? Alphabetically? Other?

3. With a ASA5550 platform what are the maximum number of tunnel-groups supported?

Thanks for your assistance.

I have this problem too.

1. Don't think there is any character limitation for group-alias.

2. Yes, you are right. It's sorted in alphabetical order.

3.  ASA5550 supports maximum of 5000 IPSec VPN and 5000 SSL VPN, however,  there is no limitation to how many tunnel-group you can configure.

Hope that answers your questions.

Thanks for your response.

Is there any way to confirm #1? There has to be some sort of limitation to the length, maybe not in the configuration but certainly in the the AnyConnect client. If it is too long does it get truncated in the client? Cisco developers should have an answer.
