Solved: Urgent help please PBR Support in WS-C3750G-12S-S

Dear Experts,

We are using WS-C3750G-12S-S now we need to PBR in this switch.

Current IOS : flash:c3750-i9-mz.122-20.SE3/c3750-i9-mz.122-20.SE3.bin

I am not sure , it is support PBR of this switch or not

No, it doesnt.

•To use PBR, you must have the IP services image installed on the stack master.
•To use PBR, you must first enable the routing template by using the sdm prefer routing global configuration command. PBR is not supported with the VLAN or default template.

Hi Vaib,

Legally you need to purchase SMI to EMI license for upgrade, but the switch itself cannot prevent you just upgrade the code without buying the license. For my customer I will recommend them buy the license or contact the sales;for my lab I will just upgrade the code. I hope you understand I am not suppose to tell you do anything against the policy at here, so my answer to your question is you need to buy license for upgrade.

Dear Letian,

Thank you very much for your great support.

According to you we dont need to change WS-C3750G-12S-S switch. only chage IOS , IP Services in place of current IOS. and ip routing enable , no switchport commnad are also configure ??? in each port of cisco WS-C3750G-12S-S switch for PBR ??

But i didnt find any ip services IOS of this WS-C3750G-12S-S switch , which is support PBR.

please guide me.

Hi Vaib,

There is a license need to be purchased for upgrading to EMI; I cannot tell you whether it is suffician by just upgrade the code. Please check the Q&A

Once you have ip service IOS in place, you have to make sure put 'sdm prefer routing' in configure and reboot the switch. There are other restrictions of using PBR on 3750, they all listed in the configuration guide.

Can i upgrade this IOS in WS-C3750G-12S-S switch ??

Thanks so much when i upgrade c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-50.SE.bin in WS-C3750G-12S-S, now i am able to apply on each interface ip policy route-map abc.
