10G compatibility

Unanswered Question

Hello all,

I have a compatibility issue that I need some help to clarify.

I have an HP blade server that came with 8G SFP. I want to replace the 8G with a 10G. This option is the easiest part. The most important is that, can I use an HP 10G module(This will be in the blade server) and connect it to a Cisco 10G 3750-X series that has 10G modules?

will there be compatibility issues there? Please help me make this decision as soon as possible.

Thanks for the effort.

As long as you use a compatible optical transciever at the Cisco end it should work. For example, if you are using a 10G SR optic on the HP side you will need the SFP-10G-SR on the Cisco side. Best thing to do would be to take a look at the HP transciever specifications and then verify the compatibility with those of Cisco's. You can easily do that yourself but if you need additional help feel free to post here.
