Please define "not coming"?

do you mean the DMP will not boot or will not register etc....

If the DMP is coming up an will not register, I suggest the following:

* Reset the DMP to Factory Defaults

* then perform an "Auto Discovery" from DMM to the IP ADDRESS of

the problem DMP

Let us know what happens after that.

Thanks

I just completed this upgrade and had the same issue. If the suggestion of resetting the DMP does not work, this is what I had to do to get it working:

Problem: DMP will not connect after upgrade to DMM 5.2.1

The DMP passes the username and password for verification. If you change the password on the DMP from anything other than 'default' the DMP will not connect! This seems to be a bug with 5.2.1. The DMP password , when upgraded to 5.2, cannot be reset to 'default' because of new password restrictions. So I had to do the following:

1-Reset the DMP to 5.03 and reset to default settings

2-Close all browser windows and log into the the 5.03 DMP to make sure 'default' was the password

3-Upgrade to DMP to, in my case, 5.2.1.

4-Log in and the password should now be set to 'default'. Don't change it until the bug has been fixed!

Hope this helps or is relevant.

PS I am attaching the 5.03 Image Firmware in case you need it!

Mike,

This is not always the case. I am not disputing what you have experienced

but in all of my tests and in my setup, I have not experienced the issues

that you mention.

I do not use "default" as a password.  I use some like "Cisco123".

I have used a password like this since day one and have upgraded many

DMPs (4305 & 4400) without the issue you mention.

The key here is to make sure that the DMM-DSM management

settings are the same as the DMP credentials.  If you reset to factory

default and upgrade to 5.2.x, you must change the password to activate

and just make sure they match.

Cheers!

I could solve the problem by setting the Server IP and the DMP passwords in DMM 5.2 and changing the DMP passwords.
