Means one of two things:

1.  Your switch is not providing the right amount of power to the AP.  The 1250 requires a minimum of 15.4w to 19.4w of PoE.

2.  Your APs running an old IOS which require no less than 19.4w of power.

Solution:

1.  Remove one of the two modules would work.

2.  Upgrade to the latest IOS version to enable the 1250 to operate at 15.4 with both radios operational.

Same reason as above.

1.  You are running an old IOS that forces the AP to operate at 15.4w

2.  Your switch is providing 15.4w PoE.

You can also get a PWR-INJ4.

I am running 12.4(10b)JA3. What IOS do you recommend I use?

Minimum requirement is 12.4(10b)JDA3.

So if the switch is providing 15.4w, that is not enough for this AP?

It's not.  The 1250 requires a minimum of 19.5w of power using the old IOS.  The new IOS as previously posted will allow users to use 15.4w and allow use of both radios AT A COST of lower MCS rates.

Is there anyway I can recover this?

Yes, please upgrade your IOS to the level I've posted.

But how can I do that in the "rommon" state the AP lookslike it is in? I cannot BOOT flash: and I cannot tftp at all. Any suggestions at this point would be appreciated.

Have you gone through this link I've posted previously?  You have copied the .TAR file into the AP, deleted the .BIN file and rebooted the AP.  Since the AP can't read .TAR file, it went into ROMMON.  The easiest way to fix the issue and get the right IOS into your AP is to follow the link I've posted previously (which I've re-posted again below).

Hi,

Under the interface on the switch that the AP is connected to, are you sure that CDP is enabled? make sure it is.

if CDP is working fine on the switch, try to issue those two commands on your AP

power inline negotiation injector override
power inline negotiation prestandard source

et me know if this works.

Can you please do a "sh version"?

What power source is the AP connected to?

View solution in original post

Can you reboot the AP and post the show logs after about 5 minutes (takes time for the radios to come up) as well as "sh ip int brief"?

I will upgrade to the latest IOS. I also saw this error:

Can you tell me what is needed to resolve this error.

My problem is I did not order an externL power supply since I intended to use my PoE switch. Is there anyway I can recover this?

I have recoverd the AP using your recommendations and with an external power adapter. I have upgraded the IOS to the latest version  c1250-k9w7-mx.124-21a.JY . I still get the original error:

%CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW:  - NON_CISCO-NO_CDP_RECEIVED  (0000.0000.0000)

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
