Switch Reachability

Hi netpros,

We having two cisco switches (1) Cisco 3550 and (2) Cisco 4948. and  connecting these two switches as :-

Cisco 3550 (Fa0/10, Switchport mode access) [Vlan1 IP 10.10.1.2/27] à Cisco 4948 (Gig1/10, Switchport mode access) [Vlan1 IP 10.10.1.6/27]

Some servers are connected from Switch 4900 Gig ports (Access Ports) which are reachable from outer network, But manageable IP(Vlan1 IP) of Cisco 4900 is not reachable. But while replacing cisco 4900 switch with cisco 3550 switch with same configuration all IP are reachable (Access Port servers IP, Manageable IP(Vlan1 IP) etc). What may be the reason.

Here like to mention that we have not configure any ACL/IP blocking on cisco 4900 switch.
