Dear All,

I would like to know if there is a command using access-list that blocks traffic and the response is REQUEST TIME-OUT and not Destination host uncreachable?

Hoping for your future response

regards,
Lester

Hello,

Unfortunately there is no way of generating custom messages when the

access-list drops a packet. The time-out message means the host can try

connecting again which defeats the whole purpose of the access-list.

Who is providing the response you are referring to?

The ASA will block packets, but what are you referring to as the response? What traffic do you want to block?
