Acceptable Latency for Data vs Voice

Is there a Cisco document or link that can tell me what are the acceptable RTT for data and voice traffic? When I was studying for my CCNP, Cisco quoted that for data, anything under 50ms is acceptable, while for voice, anything under 8ms is acceptable. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I think on most cisco documents, for voice traffic the max one way delay is 150ms, so max RTT is 300ms. For data traffic, it will depends on the application requirements.

Sometime i have voip conversations with RTTs of 600 or even 800 ms (satellink). You can still kind of speak at the same time your party and still be fine. In other words, it works extremely well even with high latency.
