Audio recording - VSOM?

It is my understanding that, while the cameras (Cisco) have an audio input, VSOM does not support audio. I have a customer that is a law enforcement agency and they have areas in their jail that they need audio and video recording (interview rooms and booking areas etc.).

Has anyone else run into this need and if so how were you able to support the audio recording? I am assuming there is a third party app that can handle this but I want to make sure before I start making committments to the Sheriff.

As far as syncing up the audio with the video I am going to assume that we can accomplish this by pointing both to an NTP server.

Thanks for any tips.

if the solution is below 16 cameras you can look at the Cisco SMB cameras. The sw is PC based and free, plus it records audio and video.

VSOM has audio listen only capabilities. No recording. I am told that is for legal reasons.

Hi,

NTP is crutial to IPCCTV. Set the camera's to oint to NTP server and use the video overlay to insert the timestamp in the video stream.

Also need to point the VSOM server to an NTP source.
