CCNA - Recertify

Unanswered Question
Sep 6th, 2010

I have passed CCNA in the year 2006. I want to give the CCNP exams. In the CCNP prerequisitess, it is mentioned that a VALID CCNA certification is required. So i think i have to re-certify my CCNA to be able to give the CCNP exams.

In CCNA re-certification, it is mentioned that, to recertify pass any 642 - XXX professional level exam.

Does that mean that i can attempt for CCNP exam and if i pass the 642-902 (ROUTE) exam, my CCNA will be valid again ? Or i have to again give the CCNA exam and only after that i can attempt for CCNP ?

Please guide.

I have this problem too.

Since it has been more than 3 years and your CCNA has expired, you have to take the CCNA exam again and pass it to qualify for CCNP cert.

Good Luck
