I am trying to figure out a way to replace the IP SLA tracking command.

(ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.1.1..254 track 100)

Our client is currently running 12.2(33)SX13 on a 6500 platform, some of their other routers have 12.3+ so are able to use IP SLA tracking to track the state of an ip address/interface and have it statefully faillover if it becomes unreachable.

On 12.2 it appears you can activate IP SLA but EOT only seems to track the change rather than failover if need be (unless you have HSRP etc).

To summarise I need to find a way of tracking a static route entry which, if it becomes unreachable fails over. Is this possible or do they need to upgrade?
