IP Phone (CP-7942G) - License option

Hi everyone,

I want to order cisco ip phone(cp-7942G), 50 qty, i was told to install a call manager RTU license before this order can go through from the configuration tool(DCT). though we have some call manager and servers like MCS-7825-I4-IPC1 and MCS-7845-I3-CCE1 coming with this order.

which option of license should i select for the IP phone:

(a) SW-CCM-UL-7942 CUCM 3.x or 4.x RTU license for single IP Phone 7942

OR

(b) SW-CCME-UL-7942 Communication manager express license for one 7942g phone

please which license should i select?

Hi Samson,

It doesn't seem like either of those Licenses that were listed are

correct if you are going to be installing "full blown" Communications

Manager

The first License listed is for "older" Callmanager 3.x and 4.x builds and

the second License is for Communications Manager Express.

In the 6.x and early 7.x Communications Manager builds the phone requires

a set amount of DLU's or Device License Units. In your case the 7942 requires

4 DLU's. You would need;

4 - LIC-CM-DL-10

Unified CM Device License - 10 units x4

Hi rob,

thanks for your reply.. i was using the dynamic configurator tool for this .. but without selecting either of the two options(licence). the configurator will not check/go through.
