Hello,

I am adding devices to CSM3.2. All the devices is authenticating using ACS5.1 but I did not add CSM to ACS. I used the username and password from ACS 5.1 to access the devices and use telnet as the default protocol to discover the devices.

Of course, I entered the credential, primary credential only and I unchecked the Secondary credential whish is http and then click next, I am devices using the first option, adding devices from the network, and I am not using snmp. but then I cannot access/add the devices.

What might be the solution to this problem? Please advise.

thank you

Eric,

CSM is like a regular user. So, use the credentials (in ACL or LOCAL) you use when you try to log-in with CLI.

Though, pay attention to how CSM is logging into the device. By default it will try http. So, make sure you are putting the right credentials for the method CSM is using to add the device. Before you add the device you can also test connectivity to make sure CSM can log into it.

I hope it helps.

Hi,

it really depends on which kind of devices you are trying to add (router, fw, ids etc...)

First thing I would suggest at this point is to read the User Guide on how to prepare the device to be accessed by CSM:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/security_management/cisco_security_manager/security_manager/3.2.2/user/guide/ivprep.html#wpxref7460

and

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/security_management/cisco_security_manager/security_manager/3.2.2/user/guide/ivman.html#wpxref8631

thx
