hi,
the scenario is we have IP communicator on my laptop act as soft phone for voice , and laptop is for data traffic .......so how can we priortize the voice in this scenario. from ip communicator ......

But i want to know whenever IP communicator is installed on our laptop, hw the traffic ( data or voice ) being priortized between voice and data .
i guesss voice should be priorized but what is the reason.................please help
And one more thing all the traffic (Voice + Data) is on Data Vlan...........i the scenario of IP Communicator on Laptop.

Cisco IP Communicator automatically tags the voice packets with DSCP values based on the Cisco Unified Communications Manager settings.
The switches look at this value when determining packet priority.
