CCIE R&S Written

Unanswered Question

Hi All,

I have found A LOT of resources out there for studying for CCIE R&S LAB exam. Currently, I"m working on studying for my written.

How difficult is the written exam? I know the Lab is a doosey (sp?)... but I haven't seen much on the written. I've read through the Cisco Press CCIE R&S study-guide, am going through it again, and will then read "Routing TCP/IP" books. How much more should I expect to read before attempting this exam?

I have this problem too.

The latest R&S written exam will definitely test your foundational knowledge of the core routing and switching topics.  Anything on the blueprint is fair game.  The TCP/IP I & II books are a good place to start.  I would also look at the CCNP self-study guides for switching as they are more up-to-date than some of the CCIE self-study guides.  Don't forget the new topics which have been added such as MPLS.
