- What is the effect of removing the SPAN session used by the FWSM installed in the C6513 switch (no monitor session servicemodule).
- Is there an IOS for the 6513 switch that support configuring more than two SPAN sessions on the switch? As the switch currently support two SPAN sessions only.

Hello Ibrahim,
for us that session is a workaround to allow multicast traffic to flow in a FWSM transparent context.
So it has become part of a solution.
the session to the FSWM can be seen only with a sh monitor session all
sh monitor session all
Session 1
---------
Type : Service Module Session
Modules allowed : 1-6
Modules active : 4
BPDUs allowed : Yes
About SPAN sessions see the table
or
section
Local SPAN, RSPAN, and ERSPAN Session Limits
the limit is two of local sessions with PFC3 (sup720) and also for PFC2 (sup2)
Hope to help

So, if i remove the SPAN for FWSM it will affect its normal operation

Hello Ibrahim,
removing the SPAN session may affect FWSM or not. this depends on what the FWSM is doing.
if no multicast traffic is going through the FWSM (as in most of FWSM applications) the side effect I've described doesn't apply to you.
So I would suggest to check FWSM configuration before taking a decision.
Hope to help
