Hi All,
Can anyone maybe explain to me the concept that--
Why naming is required in ASA like inside, outside, public, Private and dmz etc ?
Is it possible to configure asa without assign any name to its interface?
Regards,
Saurabh

Yes, naming the interfaces are required for ASA as all translation, policy, failover, access-list configuration is assigned by name configured on each interface.

Saurabh,
It is not possible to configure an interface without a name and security level.
It is like using numbers like room 1, room2, room3 instead of kitchen room, living room and bedroom in a house. It makes sense and easy to follow.
check this link on configuring interfaces: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa82/configuration/guide/intrface.html
