Integrate Unity 4.2 to (2) Callmanager clusters

Hi,

Is it possible to use a single Unity 4.2 for (1) CCM 4.2 and (1) CUCM 7.1 cluster at the same time?  For example, splitting the ports to both clusters. We have a large (>30K) VoIP deployment and need to upgrade the Callmanager cluster and Unity, so this is for migration purpose.

Yes, you can do this.  You will need to upgrade the TSP to ensure compatibility with CUCM 7.x and manage two integrations (within UTIM) but it can be done.  Go here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/integration/cucm_sccp/guide/cuintcucmskinny090.html

From there, look for a link and section titled "Multiple Clusters".

Should get you what you need.

David,

Thanks!  Is it possible to have (1) Unity 4.2 and (1) Unity Connection 7.1 integrated to (1) CUCM 7.1 cluster at the same time?

Hi Nelson,

You can integrate both simultaneously

The 2nd integration will need new Ports, VM Profile, Hunt Pilot etc. but you

should be good to go.

Cheers!

Rob

I had a near identical requirements a while ago for a customer migration. I opted to leverage Q.SIG between the two Call Manager clusters for handling the VM integration. I assigned all ports to one cluster and just tunnelled MWI through Q.SIG (via ICT). There are things to be dealt with for sure (like overlapping dial plans) but I found it relatively painless.

I did a quick write up on the experience. Maybe you will find it useful.
