IP Phone 7940 power?

Can you run a ip phone 7940 off a Netgear LAN switch FS116P... these are meant to be able to give the POE yet Im getting nothing?

Help?

Hi,

This is because the given IP phone 7940 supports only Cisco PoE and needs to be connected to only Cisco hardware. There are other newer models which can receive IEEE 802.3af PoE standard for which your Netgear PoE would work fine.
