Cisco Switch Local Proxy Arp

Hi,

We were deploying a ftth solution with cisco equipment (switch 2960 and router 2821). With the Internet providing test, the topology worked great. But when we tried communicating between two hosts, we had to enable local proxy arp in the subinterface in the 2821. My question is, is there a way I can get rid of the 2821 and just work with the 2960? Can I enable the local proxy arp in the switch 2960?

Thanks in advance.
Regards,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

2960 is a lyer-2 switch only and can not be used as a router.  So, you still need your 2821 to preform routing for you.
