Solved: Can CME route video calls to a Polycom teleconference device?

Hi All,

I would like to know if CME is able to route video calls to a Polycom device?
If so, which HW/IOS is the minimum requirement.

There is a little more to it than just the dial-peers but overall in either of the two scenarios you list, CME has no interaction with the calls being made. YOu can just replace "CME" with "router/gateway" in those call flows. If you do want to call between a CME registered IP phone and video EP then you would need to enable video support within CME.

How is the polycom phone integrating with IOS/CME? Will the video calls be routed between internal video endpoints or will calls be via the PSTN? CME won't be needed to perform routing. It would be done with dial-peers in IOS. CME would only be involved if the video call is between a CME registered IP phone and Polycom.

Hi Felipe,

Video calls would be routed only between video endpoints.

For example the call flow can be either:

1. arriving from PSTN or sending to PSTN

video endpoint------PSTN----E1_PRI----CME---LAN---polycom endpoint

AND/OR

2. arriving from or sending to remote location via WAN

video endpoint----IP----CME---LAN---polycom endpoint

So if my understanding is correct the key is ONLY the dial-peer config (SIP/H323) and nothing to do with CME as long as IP phone is not involved!?

Anyway, what if cisco IP phone also need to be considered as an endpoint can be called? Is that setup requires additional config and/or HW?
