Hi,

I need to know if Ciscoworks LMS 3.2 supports the following.

    1) Forwarding of events/alerts to SMS instead of just SMTP?

    2) When the event/alert is cleared, will DFM be configurable to send an update through SMTP/SMS?

No, LMS cannot send directly to SMS.  If you have an SMTP to SMS gateway, you can use that.  Yes, DFM can be configured to send an SMTP notification when an event/alarm is cleared.

The way LMS sends notifications your gateway would need to support standard email addresses.  In that case, you'd just setup a standard SMTP gateway in LMS, then specify your SMS email addresses for your notifications.  For example, AT&T allows one to send email to [email protected] to turn email into text messages.  This is the kind of interface LMS would require.

How do I check if the msg is really sent out to the SMTP server?
