I have a SPA525G that is connecting remotely to my UC520 using SSL VPN. Everything works great however after some time (not sure how long at this point) in which the phone is idle, it looses it's SSLVPN connection. The only easy way to re-establish connection is to reboot the phone.
- Is there a way to turn off inactivity timeouts for the remote phones only? I read where the default is 30 minutes but you could CLI it to 0 and the Cisco documentation suggests not to do that.
- Why is this not suggested?
- Is there a better way to reconnect the session than rebooting? I have tried drilling down in the phone's menu to reconnect the VPN, but it doesn't actually show it as being disconnected so I must disconnect then reconnect. Not very clean.
I would like to suggest this as a permanent teleworker solution but I don't feel confortable in having end users fiddle around with the phone menus to reconnect the VPN each morning they come into work.
Please advise. Thanks.
